Grupo Granjas Marinas has identified mangroves as one of the pillars of environmental sustainability of shrimp farming. All farms were developed in free albino flats vegetation in concessions granted by the government of Honduras. Thanks to afforestation programs and the constant presence of water in the occupied sites, mangrove forests have been developed along gunwales of lagoons and canals creating conditions that allow the maintenance and improvement of biodiversity.

WWF Guatemala/MAR conducted an analysis of land use in shrimp farms GGM Recognizing that by 2016 an increase of 176% compared to 1999 MANGROVE FOREST is reported.
